Claude-a-saurus Wrecks “Remembering Santa”

Read a review of “Christmas with Weezer” by Weezer here.

I tried something new on my YouTube channel this weekend. I recreated the Screwtape and Wormwood comic that has been previously posted on this site (here) as a comic dub on YouTube. I am very happy with how this comic came out. Watch the video below.

Since this video came out so well I am hoping to do more comic dubs.

Claude-a-saurus Wrecks “Magic Pills”

Another album so obscure that I couldn’t find a review of it online! Jamin Bradley created an electronica album that is influenced by all seven books of The Chronicles of Narnia. It’s great atmospheric background music and an intriguing listen. Check out this post on Jamin Bradley’s webpage about “Of Lampposts and Lions”.

Claude-a-saurus Wrecks doesn’t like New Year’s Resolutions! Don’t believe me? Check it out here. Ah, bask in the continuity.

New to Claude-a-saurus Wrecks and wondering what it’s all about? Check out this post to get the scoop!

Claude-a-saurus Wrecks “A Quick Descent to Irrelevance”

A few days after Christmas the Creative Director of the Babylon Bee, Ethan Nicolle, was let go from the company. In response to this, other writers have chosen to leave their positions and some subscribers have cancelled their subscriptions. This might not matter in the grand scheme or things and only be a temporary schism in the Babylon Bee fandom, but for me I certainly enjoyed listening to Ethan on the weekly podcasts and will miss him greatly. Hopefully, Ethan and Doug will be able to relaunch their other podcast, Audio Mullet. Audio Mullet is one of my favorite podcasts and it feels like your sitting their with them while they contemplate life and just happy to be there.

As a side note I am currently a paying subscriber to The Babylon Bee. I will keep my membership through the month of January because the Bee is going to have to address Ethan’s absence on their podcast. I want to hear them out, but I’m strongly considering dropping my financial support of the Babylon Bee and supporting the C.S. Lewis podcast Pints with Jack instead. Pints with Jack is extremely worthy of your support!

Claude-a-saurus Wrecks “Legion of Narnia”

Click to read a review of Pearl Jam’s “Vitalogy” here.

With “Ten” and “VS”, two remarkable albums, under their belt, the pressures of feeling trapped by their new found fame, an ongoing fight with Ticketmaster over exorbitant ticket prices and service fees, disappointing some of their fans expectations by refusing to make any music videos for any of the 6 hits songs from “VS”, and the recent suicide of Nirvana front man Kurt Cobain, Pearl Jam wrote and released their third album “Vitalogy”.

This album is a hard one to write about for sure. It has a great song in “Better Man” and I also enjoyed “Corduroy” but I don’t find myself getting excited about too much more than that. “Bugs” is eccentric but not something I feel compelled to listen to more than once. “Spin the Black Circle” is a ripper for sure but not what I come to Pearl Jam for.

As my friend Nate likes to point out, this is the album where the main song writing responsibilities start to shift to Eddie Vedder and it’s noticeable as Pearl Jam never quite comes to the height of what they’ve done with their first two albums ever again. It’s almost sad to think that this is considered the last really good PJ album… Part of me is dreading listening to No Code next. I think I might have listened to that album a total of one time before… Who knows, maybe it’ll surprise me.

If you are wondering why the comics and reviews featuring Pearl Jam’s albums are out of order… I used the “VS” album artwork in a previous comic so I updated it to included a blog post. You can read the comic and post here.
